Mary Kom, the pride of India, is a legendary boxing icon and a trailblazer in the world of sports. As the First Indian Woman Boxer to win an Olympic Medal with her remarkable bronze at the London 2012 Olympics, she has set benchmarks that continue to inspire generations. A former World No. 1 female boxer and the most successful Indian boxer, she holds unparalleled records, including being the only woman to win the World Amateur Boxing Championship six times and the only boxer to win medals in each of the first seven World Championships, with a total of eight World Championship medals. Honored by her home state of Manipur with the title ‘Meethoi Leima,’ meaning 'exceptional lady,' Mary Kom’s contributions extend beyond the ring, having also served as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. Mary Kom has also received some of the highest honours for Civilians in the country, namely the Arjuna Award (2003), Padma Shri (2006), Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna (2009), Padma Bhushan (2013) and Padma Vibushan (2020).
